Canvas Day 2

I'm really getting into this! I love how it's so messy and turns into something that grows on me :)

Canvas Day 1

Decided to try a Donna Downey canvas create class. This is my first try, not bad. Definitely going to take her monthly 2013 classes. Glad I tried it! Can't wait to work more on canvas!

New art room, new inspiration!

Been a few months, been busy, but now that we've moved (and I'll post pics of my new art room later, which I love!!), I started some art on water color paper.  Here are 2 pieces that I'm in love with, can't wait to do more.

Art Journal

While taking the CC101 class, it got my interests into Art Journals and distressing pages.  There are so many mediums out there, I figured this could be so fun!  So while on the prowl of YouTube, I came across some GREAT resources on how to start one.  This is my first attempt.  My husband got me this journal for my birthday a couple of years ago, and I wasn't quite sure what to do with it.  It's all made of handmade papers, and soft leather outer wrapping.  I've decide that I can do an art journal on these hand made papers, but I have to be really careful, as they're so delicate, but it was fun to try this, and something I'm definitely going to continue.  I also bought 2 more journals at our local art supply store, made of Cold Press Water Color paper, so when I want to get really dirty and inky, I can try it in those books.  But I really like the way this turned out.

Creative Chemistry 101 (Day 2)

I recently took the Creative Chemistry's 101 online class with Tim Holtz.  Here's my attempt at the techniques for Day 2, Blended Spritz & Flick, Brushless Watercolor, and Wrinkle-Free Distress...I really didn't like my first attempt... so I watched all the videos, went back and took my time, using the correct papers, tags, inks, etc... I like this much better. Enjoy! ...and if you weren't able to take his class, you can still sign up.  The forum isn't live, but the videos, etc. are there for a lifetime...   Signup is to the left of my blog :)  I used all Ranger Distress Inks, and Club Scrap's Green Thumb stamp.

Finished....!!!

This is the finished product of my CC101 Binder....I replaced a skeleton embellishment that I was going to put on with with Tim's distress paper flowers (using my cricut)...I'm walking away now, or I may add more... ! But I think this is enough :)

Woohoo! Here we go again!

Tim's done it again! Another batch of  Seasonal Distress Inks!  This time for spring! Can't wait to get these, I really like the colors. Plus he has the reinkers to go with it ;)  Now to wait for them to hit Michaels!

A Work in Progress...

Here's my CC101 Binder that I'm working on... still need to embellish the front with the Creative Chemistry title and some other goodies, but the alcohol inks and stamps were a good start. Now to get busy on some tags and cards! I've been so busy reorganizing my area with storage cubes, I haven't had time... but, sooooon!

Back again!

...and I think my mojo is coming back!  I haven't fallen off the earth, but I've been busy, sick, and busy again... but I'll be signing up for Tim Holtz' Creative Chemistry 101 this weekend and can't wait to see, learn, and relearn all of his techniques!

Stay tuned!!!!
