Canvas Work

The canvas was calling to me on this one, I used everything mixed media that I could get my hands on! I'm not sure I like it, but it's growing on me...

Inspiration Wednesday!

So I decided to take the plunge and join Donna Downey in her Inspiration Wednesday 2015 class! Every other week this year, I'll be doing her challenges in my art journal (and may I add that her homemade journals are beautiful!!!)

I started out following along closely, using gesso, super heavy gesso and molding paste.  I also deciding on using a few things from Club Scrap!  One was the flower stencil on the enclosure on the front page.

Adding my choice of Golden Paints and some glaze (which I'd never used before and absolutely love!)

Added a few embellishments and another cool stamp phrase from Club Scrap...

Here is the finished product!

I'm going to enjoy getting my mojo back and creating with this talented lady!!!!

New art room, new inspiration!

Been a few months, been busy, but now that we've moved (and I'll post pics of my new art room later, which I love!!), I started some art on water color paper.  Here are 2 pieces that I'm in love with, can't wait to do more.

Art Journal

While taking the CC101 class, it got my interests into Art Journals and distressing pages.  There are so many mediums out there, I figured this could be so fun!  So while on the prowl of YouTube, I came across some GREAT resources on how to start one.  This is my first attempt.  My husband got me this journal for my birthday a couple of years ago, and I wasn't quite sure what to do with it.  It's all made of handmade papers, and soft leather outer wrapping.  I've decide that I can do an art journal on these hand made papers, but I have to be really careful, as they're so delicate, but it was fun to try this, and something I'm definitely going to continue.  I also bought 2 more journals at our local art supply store, made of Cold Press Water Color paper, so when I want to get really dirty and inky, I can try it in those books.  But I really like the way this turned out.
